Redeemedreader on World Magazine Radio… and Beyond!

On Your Radio

This week Redeemedreader–as represented Janie, Caity Kullen (intern), Morgan Lee (friend of the blog), and me–virtually met with Nick Eicher of World Magazine’s radio program for a roundtable discussion of The Hunger Games.   We had a blast, and I was so impressed with the insight put forth by three generations of Christians on this media phenomenon.  Thanks to Janie for hosting the initial discussion with Caity and Morgan on our website (read their discussion here), and certainly we are very, very grateful to Nick and the folks at TW&E for giving Redeemedreader an opporunity to speak on a topic we just love:  kids’ books, culture and Christ!

For those of you who would like to hear more, you can check out a number of posts on The Hunger Games at our site: 1) Janie’s take on the book in Hungry; 2) Emily’s bullet points for parents on the movie in Real or Not Real? The Hunger Games Movie is good for teens…, and 3) both our discussions with Caity and Morgan, Post 1 and Post 2.  You can also read all of our YA book and book-to-movie reviews in our Young Adult review section.

Redeemedreader…An Event

Still haven’t had enough?  You’re invited to our first event at 7 p.m. on April 12th in Nashville, TN.  Janie will be speaking at Covenant Presbyterian Church on kids’ literature and what parents need to know about it from a Christian perspective.  See the flyer below!  And be aware that Logos Bookstore will be helping us out at the event so that you can actually purchase some of our recommended titles for kids of all ages.  Hope to see you there!  (And if you’d like to help us get the word out, here is a .pdf version of the flyer.  Feel free to print a few copies and paste them in your church or other organization.  Thanks!)
