Some Bugs by Angela DiTerlizzi, illustrated by Brendan Wenzel. Beach Lane Books, 2014. 32 pages.

Reading Level: Picture Books, ages 0-4

Some Bugs is a fun, concise, poetic description of some of the common and unique characteristics found in the insect world. Simple repetition and rhyme are effective in pointing out that Some bugs sting. Some bugs bite. Some bugs stink. And some bugs fight! The text is suitable for reading aloud to a young audience, whether one-on-one or in a group, and the lively illustrations provide plenty of details to examine. The last page spread offers a handful of some interesting bugs to look for in the book or in nature. Good for science enrichment or backyard explorers.
